Don’t let the retro appearance fool you—this bike is equipped with the latest and greatest tech. New IMU-equipped electronic riding support technology brings advanced capability to the ultimate riding experience. Using Bosch’s compact Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), inertia is monitored along 6 Degrees of Freedom. Acceleration along longitudinal, transverse, and vertical axes, plus roll rate and pitch rate are measured. The yaw rate is calculated using Kawasaki’s proprietary dynamic modeling software.
Input from the 6-axis IMU adds greater precision to Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), enabling the additional function of corner braking management. By calculating the motorcycle’s lean angle, IMU feedback helps modulate brake force for any sudden erratic movements or slippage in a corner, assisting in holding your intended line through the turn. When slowing in a straight line, IMU-enhanced ABS also helps manage pitching to suppress rear-wheel lift under heavy braking.
The Z900RS ABS retro-sport gets a host of new riding tech to take your ride to the next level:
Kawasaki Corner Management Function (KCMF) helps modulate brake force and engine power for more precise control through corners. KCMF helps facilitate a smooth transition from accelerating to braking and accelerating again, assisting in tracing your intended line through the turn.
Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) system provides both enhanced sport riding performance and the confidence to negotiate low-traction surfaces. Three rider-selectable modes offer progressively greater levels of intrusion to suit the riding situation and your preference:
- Mode 1 provides the least amount of assistance with sport riding in mind.
- Mode 2 offers earlier assistance and features balanced sport riding support.
- Mode 3 offers the most assistance, allowing you to navigate challenging road conditions with confidence.
Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts for seamless acceleration and easy deceleration.
Smartphone connectivity via RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE† with available voice command and navigation functions allows you to view vehicle info, riding log, phone call and email notifications, and tuning of general settings.

For the first time in Z900RS retro-sport history, this family gets a host of electronic rider support technology. That makes this Z900RS ABS more sporty and more high-tech than ever.
The modern lightweight trellis frame provides strength to harness the in-line 4-cylinder power and balanced flex to achieve responsive and agile handling.
A fully adjustable 41mm inverted front fork and a horizontal back-link rear suspension offer progressive damping that delivers both ride comfort and sporty performance.
Powerful braking performance featuring a firm, progressive feel is helped by modern radial-mount calipers and a radial-pump brake master cylinder. A compact and lightweight Nissin motorcycle ABS unit helps reduce wheel lock-up under certain conditions.
A relaxed upright riding position accommodates both comfortable cruising and sporty riding. A low seat height allows a comfortable reach to the ground while an upright handlebar position adds leverage for cornering and low-speed maneuvering.

RIDER EXPERIENCEFEELS AUTHENTIC
Retro design meets modern technology and performance for superb riding comfort around town and on the highway.
An Öhlins S46 rear shock features an aluminum body with single-tube construction, large 46mm piston and internal air and gas chambers separated by a floating piston, resulting in a superior sense of grip and handling. Fine-tuned front fork settings and gold-colored fork outer tubes complement the Öhlins rear suspension to complete the package.
An upgraded front brake package with Brembo components featuring M4.32 radial-mount monobloc calipers deliver stronger stopping power and contribute to precise control and a greater ease of use. Brembo discs and Brembo brake pads complete the package.

Yesterday’s values built for today’s roads. The Z900RS SE ABS retro-sport is the high-grade variation featuring advanced suspension, brake upgrades, gold-colored wheels, and the iconic Fireball colorway. And with a new handlebar-mounted USB Type-C outlet, you can stay charged up the entire journey.
The Z900RS CAFE ABS retro-sport features café-inspired staples to look and ride the part. A front cowl gives a sporty look while providing effective wind protection. The black-painted drop handlebar helps you lean into the ride while matching the design accents. And the seat features a more pronounced step with a 32.3-in height.
In addition to the added features, extra detail has been added for café-inspired style:
- Mach series fuel tank graphics give a simple, sporty look, paying homage to the rainbow line once used on legendary Kawasaki sport machines.
- The Kawasaki logo on the fuel tank was applied using a smooth transfer film, allowing the paint underneath to shine through.
- The lettering on the side cover emblem is black and designed to match the outline-style KAWASAKI logo on the fuel tank.
- A hairline finish on the silencer and exhaust heat guard add to the refined, sporty appearance.
