The 2024 KLX®230 S features a new compact and lightweight engine that delivers even more low- to mid-range torque, pulling strongly and facilitating low-speed control. Fuel injection delivers precise response, and smooth torque leads to rider-friendly engine character with linear acceleration.
Electric start and fuel injection ensure easy starting and efficient fuel delivery regardless of altitude or air temperature.
A smooth-shifting six-speed transmission covers a wide range of street-riding conditions and allows for a more comfortable ride on both the streets and trails.

The KLX®230 dual-sport lineup is powered by a 233cc fuel-injected, air-cooled single cylinder engine, tuned for low- to mid-range power.

The high-tensile steel perimeter frame, short wheelbase and low seat height offer the handling needed for confident trail riding for a wide range of riders and environments.
The KLX®230 features a seat height of 34.8-inches vs. 33.2-inches on the KLX®230 S.
The 2024 KLX®230 S has a new longer-travel suspension with optimized settings that help power through rugged terrain with comfort and control. Plus, a new lightweight aluminum swingarm and rear brake master cylinder helps keep the bike light for improved on- or off-road maneuverability.
Petal disc brakes add even more stopping power, with a twin-piston caliper gripping a 240mm disc in the front and a 220mm disc in the rear.
The 2024 KLX®230 S is available with an updated dual-sport calibrated ABS*, specially developed for this model. Designed to assist stopping performance on low-friction surfaces, this ABS system will offer reassurance to both new and experienced riders. A switch on the left handlebar allows riders to disable the front and rear ABS function to better suit riding conditions.
Full-size aluminum wheels measuring 21-inches in the front and 18-inches in the rear allow for confident riding and handling over varied terrain.

The engine and chassis were designed together to make KLX230 models as agile and lightweight as possible, while the frame, suspension, swingarm, brakes and wheels are fine-tuned for thrilling on- and off-road performance.

The KLX®230 S motorcycle's frame, seat, new fuel tank and gas cap were designed to give riders an easier grip, offering superior chassis control. Seams between the newly designed shrouds, side panels and seat are flush, which facilitates freedom of movement, while the newly positioned clutch and brake hand levers offer improved access when riding on- or off-road.
The 2024 KLX®230 S motorcycle delivers all-day comfort with a newly designed seat that has a flat silhouette so riders can adjust to their ideal riding position. Additional seat thickness also helps absorb bumps from rugged trails and uneven roads for improved rider comfort.
The 2024 KLX®230 S has a compact LED headlight in a slim, sharp new front cowl offering remarkable brightness at night or in low light conditions. The multi-function LCD dash meter and new smartphone connectivity via RIDEOLOGY THE APP* helps keep your riding information right in front of you.
Features include: speedometer, odometer, dual-trip meters, fuel gauge, clock, and indicator lamps.
The KLX®230 lineup stands out with KX™-inspired styling which adds to the off-road racing-inspired look. The 2024 KLX®230 S dual-sport motorcycle features all-new smooth-surface bodywork and blacked out rims which complements the bike's sporty character.

The KLX®230 S features a shorter, two-stage front suspension with 7.8-inches of travel. The front forks are shorter, and work with shorter dual-stage springs with a firmer spring rate. Combined with reduced rear suspension travel (8.7 inches), this helps lower the seat height by 1.6 inches.

The KLX®230 S extends the playing field, allowing more riders to experience the thrill of dual-sport riding thanks to a reduced 33.2-inch seat height (34.8 inches on standard model).
